AI Agents and Workflow Automation

An agent is only useful if it finishes work. That means real tools, permission to use them, a record of what it did, and a hard stop before anything irreversible.

What you get

What the work actually includes

  • Tools over your own systems

The agent calls your APIs and internal services through a defined tool surface, with every call authorised and logged.

  • Guardrails

Explicit limits on what may happen unattended, human approval on anything irreversible, and a kill switch that actually works.

  • Workflow automation

The unglamorous version that pays: triage, routing, data entry, report assembly. The work that currently occupies somebody's morning.

  • Evaluation and traces

Every run recorded end to end and scored against expected outcomes, so you can see why a run went wrong rather than guessing.

  • Cost controls

Per-run budgets, step limits, and alerting, because an agent in a loop is a billing incident waiting to happen.

  • Human-in-the-loop review

A queue for anything below a confidence threshold or outside the agent's explicit permissions, so uncertain cases reach a person instead of getting guessed at.

  • Integration with your existing tools

Slack, email, your ticketing system, or an internal dashboard — the agent works where your team already does, through each platform's own API rather than a new interface to learn.

Questions

AI Agents & Automation, answered plainly

How is an agent different from a chatbot?

A chatbot answers. An agent acts: it calls your systems, changes state, and reports what it did. That difference is why the engineering is mostly permissions, logging, and failure handling rather than prompting.

What happens when it gets something wrong?

It should be recoverable by design. Irreversible actions require human approval, everything else is logged in enough detail to undo, and the run joins the evaluation set so the same mistake is caught next time.

Where do agents actually pay off?

High-volume, rule-heavy work with a clear definition of done: support triage, invoice and document processing, data reconciliation, first-pass research. Work that is ambiguous or rarely repeated is usually cheaper left with a person, and we will say so.

Can an agent replace a specific manual workflow we already have?

Often, yes, if you can describe the workflow as a series of decisions and actions. We start by mapping the current manual process, automate the well-defined middle of it first, and leave the genuinely judgement-heavy edge cases with a person rather than forcing the whole thing into one automation.

Do you build agents that work inside tools like Slack or email?

Yes. An agent that lives where the work already happens — replying in a Slack thread, triaging an inbox, updating a ticket — gets adopted faster than one behind a new interface nobody remembers to open. We wire it to the platform's own API rather than screen-scraping or polling.

What else we build

Most projects need more than one of these, and they are usually cheaper together than sequenced apart.
